The Starting Place (OB Triage) is an outpatient unitwithin the Women and Infant Services of Saint Joseph Hospital (SJH). Itis designed for the purpose of screening obstetrical patients with variousconcerns during their pregnancy. It is primarily staffed by CertifiedNurse-Midwives (CNMs) and RNs who provide complete assessment and health careservices to women who present to the unit. Our CNM team practices within ahealth care system that provides for consultation, collaborative management, orreferral as indicated by the health status of the client. Moreover, allCNMs practice within the Standards of Practice of Nurse-Midwifery as definedby the American College of Nurse Midwives and the standards of practice atSaint Joseph Hospital. OB Triage is available to all OB patients 24 hours aday, 7 days a week and is covered by residents and RNs at night.

As an OB Triage RN you need to know how to:
Evaluate a patient's health status bycontinuously collecting and assessing data
Teach and educate patients and colleagues
Foster continuity and quality of care with thebest interest of patients and their families in mind
Collaborate with integrated health care teams
Refer patients for further evaluation ortreatment as needed
Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans
Comply with evaluation, treatment anddocumentation guidelines
Utilize available resources and continuallyexpand your knowledge

Float between departments and fulfill on-callduties as needed

Degree or diploma from an accredited nursingprogram
Completion of Bachelors degree in Nursingwithin 4 years of your hire (for Associates degree or diploma prepared nurses)
Current Colorado RN license
Current BLS and NRP certifications
Minimum of two (2) years of Labor and DeliveryRN experience
